HAIR POP AND PALS is a low pressure, high curiosity creative hang, built by stylists for stylists, around sharing and showing up as you are.

No scripts. No selling objectives. No perfection required.

Created by Molecule Salon as a step toward the kind of industry we want to exist in, this event is about stripping things back, and making space for real work, real conversations, and real people. We wanted to give the industry a new option, built on “punk rock basement show” energy.

Throughout the afternoon, around 15 stylists and/or barbers will be working on live models, showcasing a look that’s currently lighting them up.

THIS IS NOT A CLASS…

There will be no step by step talking points. No power points. No product brand affiliations. No “please take your seat and quiet down”.

Attendees are encouraged to roam the room, watch live hair being created in real time, ask questions, connect, grab a drink, browse a small lineup of curated local independent business vendors, get inspired, repeat.

WHERE’S THE HANG HAPPENING?

LOCATION: We’ll be popping up in the back bar of Gman Tavern (3740 N Clark St, Chicago).

TIME: Door open at 12PM, the event runs 12:30-5PM.
You’re welcome to come and go as you please.

TICKETS: $5 presale/$10 cash at door (if capacity allows)

AGE: 21+ with valid government ID to enter building (no exceptions due to city regulations)

All sales are final

While this event is geared toward industry folks, everyone (including your Nana) is welcome to come hang, support the work and the stylists behind it, and connect locally

GMAN TAVERN is a classic Chicago bar with a long history supporting live music, and the DIY creative scene. Owned by the same folks behind Metro and Smartbar, Gman’s cozy back bar has hosted countless intimate shows, community hangs, and creative experiments over the years. For many of us Chicagoans, it’s a space we grew up in, and one that’s always made room for people doing things their own way
