  • Molecule Salon is a co-working salon space, created by Shannon Bucaro, for licensed Independent Stylists.

    What does that mean?

    The stylists you’ll find here own and operate their own businesses, and work fully for themselves. They rent a station at Molecule Salon, making this the space they’ve chosen to operate their business out of.

    Like any business, they are solely responsible for handling their own appointments, pricing, payments, clientele, business questions, accomidations, inquiries, concerns, etc.

  • As Independent Stylists, all stylists have their own method of booking.

    Molecule Salon does NOT handle any stylist’s appointments or clients. Due to this, all stylists here are BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. WE DO NOT TAKE WALK INS

    You can find any stylist’s preferred booking by heading HERE, then selecting your stylist’s bio/book now button.

    Don’t know who to see? I encourage you to peak around everyone’s profiles. From there, you’ll be able to see who most connects with your personality, and hair needs

  • You’ll find each stylist here. Once you click on their bio/book now button, you’ll find some great information about their vibe, their specialties, a brief view of some of their work, and means to book or connect with them.

    Still uncertain? We recommend following us on Instagram @salonmoleculechicago . From there, you will find an extensive library of all the work the stylists housed here have created. You will also find their Instagram handle somewhere in the caption, which will further direct you to more of their content. From there, simply book with whomever resinates with you the most!

  • You must reach out to your stylist directly.

    Molecule Salon does not have access to any stylist’s booking, and can not help with this

    All Independent Stylists also have their own cancellation policies. Please reach out directly to them for more information.

  • Each stylist has their own manner of handling client’s who are running late. You must reach out to your stylist directly.

    Molecule Salon does not have access to any stylist’s bookings.

  • Molecule Salon does not have a receptionist or a phone line, there for we don’t facilitate phone calls.

  • We are located at 4001 N Ravenswood Ave Suite 203B and 205, Chicago, 60613. We are located on the second floor of the Historic Manz Building.

    This building is located directly on the corner of Ravenswood, and Irving Park. We are just east of the Metra tracks, steps from the Irving Park brownline, with various bus routes around.

  • Ravenswood, from Irving Park to Berteau, is meter free parking, and only permit from 8AM-10AM; M-F.

    Irving Park, in the immediate vicinity, is meter and permit free.

    Surrounding side streets (Berteau, Belle Plaine, parts of hermitage, and Paulina) are meter and permit free.

    As always, please look for city designated signs on legality of parking, before leaving your vehicle there. Molecule Salon, and any of the Independent Stylists housed here, are not responsible for any fines or fees associated with parking.

    Like most places in Chicago, there are many businesses around us. We do recommend allowing yourself an extra 10 minutes or so to find parking. Especially if you are coming during peak business hours, Monday-Friday 10AM-5PM.

  • Do you need assistance navigating the building?

    Please speak with your stylist directly, and they’ll be happy to assist you.

    please note that besides the front elevator, the building also has an oversized elevator at the back. This elevator can be accessed through a large sized door, that doesn’t have stairs. You will need to have your stylist escort you through this entryway, so please contact them on their direct business number upon arriving.

    our salon also has a front door that can be double width opened for more accessibility. all caregivers welcomed. All service animals are welcomed as well.

  • our entrance is on Ravenswood. when you get to the front door, you will find a buzzer system for entry. if you are seeing a stylist in suite 203B, dial 401. If you are seeing a stylist in suite 205, dial 047.

    there is no need to hit any other buttons, simply dial the 3 numbers on the pinpad. a call will go up to your stylists suite, and your stylist will buzz you in.

    if you forget which numbers to dial, you can always find them on the building directory. the building directory is located behind you, on the wall opposite of the buzzer system. Look for the name Salon Molecule, and dial the code for the appropriate suite your stylist works out of.

  • yes it does! it actually has two. When you enter the building, you will find a smaller vintage passenger elevator directly through the second glass door. the elevator is as old as the building (1908), but has been upgraded with modern mechanics.

    Please note, the door can be a little heavy to open, and maneuver. If you need assistance, please contact your stylist directly.

    The second elevator is extra large, and located at the back of the building. This entry way also has the ability of access without stairs. please contact your stylist directly if accommodations can be provided

  • you will find Salon Molecule on the 2nd floor. you can reach the 2nd floor via the elevator, or stairway to the left.

    once you arrive to the 2nd floor, head down the hallway. our salon is very visible from this point. by each door, you will find a list of stylists for each suite. Please enter the suite that accompanies your stylist, have a seat in the reception area, and your stylist will greet you as soon as they are free.

  • As independent stylists, operating a personal small business, each stylist has their own way of handling these circumstances

  • We proudly welcome the queer community. All of the stylists housed at Molecule Salon provide gender affirming haircare. Molecule Salon also has 2 gender free restrooms.

    We welcome all textures of hair. Racism is not accepted in our spaces. We believe hair trauma is a real thing, and we want to do our best in making you feel safer, heard, and seen when you sit in one of our chairs.

    Molecule Salon is also owned by a human who exists here because of familial immigration. All stylists are educated on their rights and resources, on how to better assist their clients or community, on all I C E matters

    we look forward to knowing your pronouns, and sharing ours.

  • It is currently up to each stylist if they require face coverings for the duration of appointments. Please contact your stylist directly to ask about their policy.

    If YOU would like BOTH you and your stylist to wear a face covering for the duration of your appointment, please contact your stylist directly to see if accomidations can be made.

    If you are experiencing ANY *General Illness, Common Cold, Strep, Flu, Sniffle, Covid, Etc please do not enter Molecule Salon.

    If ANYONE in your household is sick, or you have recently been in contact with ANYONE who is sick, please DO NOT enter Molecule Salon

    We take this very seriously.

    We get it, It stinks to miss your appointment, BUT it stinks even worse for us when we catch something that could have been avoidable. When this happens, instead of you missing just one appointment, we now have to cancel and reschedule a weeks + worth of appointments.

    On average, it takes a stylist a month to get back on track, when something like this happens.

    Also, some of our stylist are themselves, or are care givers for immunocompromised people. A basic cold for you, can be a hospital stay for them.

    We can’t stress this enough, please help us by leading with compassion, and respect for our health. It’s much appreciated, and we will always do the same for you.

    *a general illness, no matter how severe, can be any viral infection, cold, bacterial infection, sinus infection, strep, flu, etc
